So I'm reading Marathoning for Mortals and Bingham/Hadfield say that Crosstraining should not include walking. Higdon says walking is OK. Any opinions/comments out there?
I probably won't change what I'm doing (which is walking) unless I get a chorus of dissenting opinions, but I am curious.

The only argument I have against walking is that it is an impact activity just like running (although obviously lower-impact). As long as you're feeling good, stick with what you know, but as you start racking up the mileage, you may get more aches and pains. A low- to no-impact activity (swimming, cycling, elliptical) will get you exercise and aerobic training without making life harder on your joints.
All that to say, do whatever you want, as long as you're doing something! haha.
